Terms of service

These terms cover your use of OldPermits ("we"), a postcard service for HVAC, plumbing and roofing contractors, including the website and the contractor app. By subscribing or signing in, you agree to them. Questions: hello@oldpermits.com.

The service

We use public city building-permit records to choose homes in your selected ZIP codes, design a postcard with your branding, and mail it for you through our printing partner. Your plan includes the number of postcards a month shown at checkout. Extra postcards are billed at the price shown in the app before you mail them.

Your account

• You must be a business, and the details you give us (business name, license number, contact details and offer) must be accurate and yours to use.
• You sign in with an emailed link or with Google. Keep access to that email account secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• You approve each postcard design before it mails. You are responsible for your offer and for following the advertising and licensing rules that apply to your trade.

Permit records

Permit records show permit history only. They do not tell you the age or condition of any equipment, and work may have happened without a recorded permit. Postcards state only what the public record shows. We do not guarantee that records are complete or current, or that any postcard or QR scan will lead to a job.

Territories

While your subscription is active and in good standing, we will not offer your trade in your chosen ZIP codes to another contractor, subject to the availability shown when you choose them.

Billing and cancellation

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future charges and mailings at the end of the current billing period. Postcards already mailed are not refundable.

Acceptable use

Don't use the service for misleading or unlawful offers, to harass anyone, or to try to access data or accounts that aren't yours. We may pause or close accounts that do, and we may decline any postcard design.

Liability

The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or lost-profit damages.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and tell contractor customers by email about material changes before they take effect.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of California.
